Last Epoch Builds

Plan builds around skills, passive trees, mastery access, and the character level cap rather than copying an unsupported ranking. This module focuses on the official rules that determine how a build can be assembled and respecced.

  • Skill Specialization

Characters can unlock up to five specialization slots, matching the five skills that can be equipped on the action bar.

  • Skill Level

Specialized skills have a natural maximum level of 20, while +Skill affixes can raise individual skills beyond that base limit.

  • Passive Trees

After choosing a mastery, its full passive tree opens; the other mastery trees are accessible only up to their halfway gates.

  • Level Cap

Character level is capped at 100, although XP can still be earned after reaching the cap.

Last Epoch Loot Filter

Set up a loot filter so valuable bases and upgrades remain visible while unwanted drops are hidden. The in-game system supports rule priority, direct import and export, and up to 75 rules in a single filter.

  1. Open the loot filter

Open the Loot Filter interface with Shift + F by default.

  2. Write show, hide and emphasise rules

Create rules for items you want to show, hide, or emphasize; one filter can contain up to 75 rules.

  3. Order rules by priority

Place the most important rules higher in the list because upper rules take priority over lower ones.

  4. Share or disable a filter

Import or export filters directly through the interface, and hold X by default to temporarily disable the active filter.

Last Epoch Crafting Guide

Learn how affix shards, Forging Potential, runes, glyphs, and Legendary crafting fit together. Crafting can create or upgrade affixes through tier 5, while tier 6 and tier 7 affixes must come from dropped items.

  1. Add affixes with shards

Use Affix Shards to add an affix or increase an existing affix by one tier; items can have up to two prefixes and two suffixes.

  2. Watch Forging Potential

Manage Forging Potential because most crafting actions consume it, and an item cannot be crafted further after it reaches zero.

  3. Apply runes and glyphs

Use Runes for major item modifications and Glyphs to modify crafting outcomes, such as preserving Forging Potential with Glyph of Hope.

  4. Build a Legendary

Create a Legendary in the Temporal Sanctum's Eternity Cache by combining a Unique with Legendary Potential and an Exalted item with exactly four unsealed affixes.

Last Epoch Item Factions

Choose between trading through the Merchant's Guild and target-farming through the Circle of Fortune. Season 5 substantially changed both systems, so this module highlights the current faction rules rather than older rank and Prophecy behavior.

  • Merchant's Guild

    Season 5

Enables player trading through the Bazaar; in Season 5, item purchases are no longer gated behind Merchant's Guild ranks.

  • Circle of Fortune

    Season 5

Improves self-found item acquisition through Prophecies; Season 5 removed Prophecy rerolling and lets selected rewards charge as Favor is gained.

  • Faction Choice

The first faction choice is available during Chapter 9, only one Item Faction can be active at a time, and the choice is not permanent.

  • Favor and Reputation

Killing enemies and completing quests earns Favor; spending Favor and gaining experience contribute to faction Reputation.

Last Epoch FAQ

Common questions about Last Epoch, answered for new Travelers, returning players, and endgame explorers.

Is Last Epoch free to play, and is it pay-to-win?

No. Last Epoch is a paid game on Steam. Optional cosmetic purchases are available, and the developer's published policy says spending real money will not provide gameplay advantages.

Can I play Last Epoch completely offline?

Yes. In Steam, right-click Last Epoch, open Properties, and set Launch Options to Play Full Offline. This is the true offline mode, distinct from choosing an offline character while remaining connected to the internet.

Can I move a Last Epoch character between offline and online modes?

No. Online and offline characters use separate save systems, and transfers are not supported in either direction. Choose the mode you want before investing heavily in a character.

Does Last Epoch support co-op with friends?

Yes. Last Epoch supports online co-op for up to four players. Players can group even when their character levels differ. Use online characters for co-op; Full Offline is for solo play.

When do I choose a mastery in Last Epoch, and can I change it later?

You choose a mastery near the end of Chapter 2. It is no longer a permanently locked choice: Chronomancer Lerinne at the End of Time can change your mastery for a fee.

What is the maximum level in Last Epoch?

The character level cap is 100. Skills normally level to 20, but equipment with +Skill affixes can raise individual skill levels beyond that base limit.

What is the current Last Epoch season?

As of October 2, 2026, the current season is Season 5: Rage of the Frostborn, launched on October 1. It introduces Rage of Morditas encounters, three new skills, and item-faction updates.

Should I choose Merchant's Guild or Circle of Fortune in Last Epoch?

Choose the Merchant's Guild for buying and selling equipment, or Circle of Fortune for targeted loot through Prophecies. In Season 5, Merchant's Guild item purchases no longer require faction ranks, and Circle of Fortune uses selected rewards that charge as you gain favor instead of Prophecy rerolls.

How do I unlock Pinnacle Morditas in Last Epoch Season 5?

Complete Rage of Morditas encounters to unlock the three-part Woven Echo chain, then defeat Morditas to obtain Demigod's Ascendance. Placing that Woven Echo in your Echo Web requires 400 Corruption and unlocks the God of Bloodshed encounter. Its difficulty does not scale with Corruption.

Is Last Epoch available on PS5 yet?

As of October 2, 2026, Last Epoch: Orobyss has been announced for PS5, but the official PlayStation Store still lists its release date as undetermined. It can be wishlisted; the PC version is already available on Steam.
